Troubleshooting
"No text found"
The file has no readable content. For a scanned PDF, the built-in OCR usually steps in on its own; if even OCR finds nothing, the page is likely blank or unreadable. For a file nymos cannot open at all, a permissions issue, or an iCloud file that has not downloaded yet, the row shows the system's own reason inline.
Names came out generic
Weak names almost always mean weak input. A low-resolution scan gives OCR little to work with, so re-scanning at around 300 DPI helps a lot. If the names are fine but in the wrong language, check the filename language for the batch. To fix one file, ask for a fresh suggestion rather than re-running the whole batch.
nymos asks for access to a folder
macOS requires your explicit permission before an app may rename files in a folder. nymos asks once per folder and remembers your answer securely. It is the standard macOS mechanism, not an account or a login.
A watch folder isn't picking up files
Check that the watch folder is switched on and not paused, and that its access was granted; if you moved or re-created the folder, add it again. Remember that a watch folder handles new arrivals: existing files are only included if you asked for them when you set it up.
"Trial limit reached."
The free trial covers 60 documents within 7 days, whichever runs out first. After that, choose the managed subscription. See License, trial & subscription.
"Monthly rename limit reached."
Your plan's monthly document allowance is used up. It refills automatically on your 30-day cycle, or upgrade to a bigger plan from the app; both are one click from the strip in the main window.
A file wasn't renamed
nymos never overwrites an existing file. If the target name is taken, it numbers the new one Finder-style, like "Name 2.pdf". If a rename failed outright, the reason shows in the row itself.
