Testimonials
Real people, real folders.
My Downloads folder went from four hundred cryptic PDFs to something I can actually search. The review step is what sold me: nothing happens without my OK.
It reads the scans too. My whole admin folder finally has real names.
App in English, filenames in Spanish. Exactly what my bookkeeping needed.
Private by design.
nymos sends a document's content directly from your Mac for analysis, and nothing else. No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry in the app.
No permanent storage
Content is processed to suggest a name, then discarded. Nothing is kept on our servers.
No model training
Your documents are never used to train AI models. Not ours, not anyone's.
EU-routed & never logged
Requests pass through our relay in Amsterdam, which never stores and never logs content. It forwards, and forgets.
Good questions.
The short answers. The long ones live in the docs.
What does nymos actually do?
It reads what is inside a file, not the old filename, and suggests a clear, consistent name in the file's own language. You review every suggestion and apply it per file or all at once.
Which file types can it read?
PDFs (including scans, with built-in OCR), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, iPhone photos (HEIC), plain text, Markdown and CSV.
Which Macs does it run on?
nymos is a native Mac app for macOS 14 (Sonoma) and newer. There is no Windows or mobile version.
Will it ever rename something by itself?
No. Nothing is ever renamed automatically. Even the watch folder only prepares suggestions that wait for your review.
Does it move my files or change my folders?
No. A file is renamed right where it lives. nymos never moves, copies or reorganizes anything, so your folder structure stays exactly as you left it.
Which languages does it speak?
By default each file is named in its own language, read from the content, so a factuur stays Dutch and a Rechnung stays German. Prefer one language for everything? Fix filenames to English, Dutch or Spanish. The app's interface language is a separate setting either way.
What happens to my documents?
A document's content is sent for analysis and nothing else: never stored, never logged, never used to train AI models.
What will it cost?
A managed subscription that works out of the box, no setup and no API key, starting at $9 a month for 400 renamed documents. Bigger plans are on the slider above, and annual billing gives you two months free. The trial is 60 documents free, with a week to use them, no account needed.
Do I need an account or an API key?
Neither. The trial asks for no account, no email and no credit card, and the managed subscription needs no API key: install, subscribe in the app, rename. Bringing your own provider key is coming later.
What happens after the 60 free documents?
Everything you renamed stays renamed, and your history, undo and templates keep working. To get new suggestions, you pick a subscription inside the app.
Can I undo a rename?
Always. Every rename lands in a day-grouped history where you can revert it, or hit ⌘Z for the last one.
