Your files stay on your Mac. nymos reads them to suggest a name, and only what it needs for that ever leaves your machine. This page is the plain-language version; the full controller and legal detail live in the privacy policy.

What leaves your Mac

When you ask for suggestions, the extracted text of a document, or a downscaled copy of an image, is what gets sent for analysis. Nothing else: not your filenames elsewhere, not your folder structure, not your other files. Extraction and OCR happen on your Mac before anything is sent.

Requests pass through our own server in Amsterdam, and the model that reads the document runs on servers in the EU too, so document content is processed inside the European Union from end to end, as GDPR compliant processing by a Dutch company. Our server never stores and never logs document content; its request log records the method, path, status and duration only, and that rule is enforced in the code. What it does keep is an anonymous license identifier and a document count: no filenames, no content, no email address. The model processes the document transiently and does not use it for training.

If you bring your own provider

Running nymos on your own AI provider account changes the path entirely. Document content goes straight from your Mac to the provider you connected, under your own account and that provider's terms. Our relay is not in the middle, so we never see the content and hold no record that the rename happened.

Your key is stored securely on your Mac. It is sent to your chosen provider and to nobody else, and it never reaches our servers. Which provider you pick decides where the content is processed and whose privacy policy applies to it.
